I have been a fan of this original song from Billy Troy since I first heard it, and was super excited when he agreed to do a 40 Horse Mule version.. If you like country music, bluegrass, or just a fan of Billy's, I hope you will enjoy our version of Back On My Knees.
I first recorded this original way back in 1977. It was the title cut of my banjo instrumental album, Thunderhead. I was blessed to have been able to do that project. Bobby Thompson, my banjo hero, even wrote the liner notes!
I also had several very talented friends who helped make the music possible, considering the lack of talent and experience on my part! One of those musicians was Rupert Oysler on harmonica. I have wanted to record a new version of Thunderhead for some time, and was super excited when Rupert agreed to play again on this latest version! I hope you enjoy it..
New self-titled EP is now available on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and Google Play.. EP includes our new single, Papa Gene's Blues, Jack The Tobacco Farmer, along with Hell, Fire and Brimstone, That's What You Get (For Leaving Me) featuring Uncle Josh Graves, and more!
